A true cultural hybrid fluent in Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay, Desiree Lim is a Vancouver-based Canadian screenwriter, director and producer whose films have played at major LGBT and international film festivals around the globe. A second-generation Chinese born in Malaysia, she grew up there as well as in Japan before settling in Vancouver in 2002.

Next Performance:
Feature film, The House, will be coming to video-on-demand across North America starting June 1, 2014. Winner of Best Screenwriting and Best Performance Awards at Vancouver Women’s Film Festival and Best Canadian Feature at the Female Eye Film Festival, the film is described as, “A different kind of ghost story,” and will be available on all major and minor Cable/Satellite VOD operators as well as major internet platforms including iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Vudu, Xbox Video and more.

What is the highlight of your performance?
I write, direct, and produce films that I hope to inspire, enlighten and empower people with through thought-provoking and heartwarming stories with authentic characters.
